Through our sports medicine company, DePuy Mitek, we offer a leading portfolio of soft tissue arthroscopic repair products for the knee and shoulder, as well as visualization equipment to provide surgeons with a better view of the surgical site.  This offering makes DePuy Mitek a leader in the field of sports medicine, an increasingly important area of orthopaedics to meet the needs of a more demanding baby boomer population.  The future of sports medicine and the arthroscopy market is promising, with new technologies on the horizon such as cartilage regeneration through biologics, condylar resurfacing and hip arthroscopy.

Also focusing on early intervention options in our spine business, DePuy Spine has entered into a strategic collaboration with Axial Biotech to develop a gene-based test to predict the progression of scoliosis, an abnormal curvature of the spine that primarily affects children.

Intermediate Intervention
